Barcelona - The National Art Museum of CataloniaNational Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) was sozdan in 1990 through the merger of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Art of Catalonia.

The museum is housed in the National dvortse (Palau Nacional) at the foot of Montjuic, which was built in 1929 for the World Exhibition in Barcelona.

The museum presents eksponaty relating to the Roman art (XI-XIII century, the most valuable collection of frescoes on the territory of Catalonia), Gothic iskusstva (XIII-XVvv), and the Baroque era rennesansa (XVI-XVIII centuries)., As well as contemporary art.

In the exhibition halls of the "Art of the Renaissance and barokko" display masterpieces by El Greco, Velázquez and Zurbarán. Also, here are a collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection, which includes works by Tiepolo, Titian, Lotto, Canaletto and Velazquez.
